Scenic locations of Uttarakhand have long been directors’ first choice for movie locations. Following the steps of Student Of The Year, other directors are now opting for shooting in Uttarakhand. The latest entry in the trend zone is the film in making – Total Dhamal. Starring Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgan, and Anil Kapoor the megablockbuster sequel will be shot in pictures locations of Uttarakhand.
Director and official of Uttrakhand Film Development Council, K. S. Chauhan that the film Total Dhamal had been given the approval for shooting in Uttarakhand. The time span between 1-15th May 2018, was approved for shooting. The film is being made under the banner of Maruti International, Mumbai.
Indra Kumar is directing the multi-starrer film. The plea for approving the shooting of the movie, under the direction of Indra Kumar, had been made to the state government for getting sanctioned.
Along with Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgan, Anil Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Arshad Warsi are also part of the film. Indra Kumar has given many hits in the past starting from Mohabbat, Kasam, Dil, Beta, Raja, Maan, Rishte, Masti, Pyare Mohan, Daddy Cool to Super Nani. He has directed the commercial comedy series Masti, Grand Masti and Great Grand Mast. These movies have been box office killers. Total Dhamal is a sequel to Dhamal and Double Dhamal which were big hits.
The finalised locations for Total Dhamal shooting include areas from Jim Corbett, Sitaban Forests, Neelkanth Road and Phulchatti in Rishikesh. Earlier reports suggested that the state government has waved off shooting charges for films that are shot in Uttarakhand. The step was taken and proposed with the vision of promoting the regional film industry and livelihood of people earning from the sector. Directors have tried to make the most of the opportunity by shooting films under major banners in the state.
