Aishwarya Goel will represent Uttarakhand at VLCC Femina Miss India 2020. Himalayan Buzz team interviewed her recently. We along with all our readers wish her luck in her endeavor to bring the title to Uttarakhand.

Tell us about your childhood & education?

I was born & brought up in Dehradun. I did my schooling at St. Thomas College, Dehradun & graduated with B.Com Honours from Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun.

I also have a degree in Indian Classical music.

How does it feel like to represent your state in Miss India?

It’s an honor for me to represent my state Uttarakhand at such a big platform like FEMINA MISS INDIA, not once but twice. And I take immense pride in being a native of Uttarakhand and representing its rich culture and natural beauty.

Did you expect to win Miss India Uttarakhand?

I had been preparing well for it as I wanted to give my best for the pageant. This is the time and this is the moment for me to follow my long-time dream, so, yes I somewhere had faith in me that I would win VLCC Femina Miss India Uttarakhand 2020.

How did your friends and family react when they got to know you will represent Uttarakhand?

They were elated and believed in me that I would make it as the representative of Uttarakhand and one day for the main title as well.

You were among the top 21 finalists in Miss India 2015. How was the experience at that time?

I was among the top 21 finalists of Femina Miss India in 2015 and honestly, I was new to pageantry with minimal knowledge of the same. Being a tom boy all my life, I definitely learned a lot and was able to work on my feminine side as well.

What’s the difference between then & now?

Ah! It has been a journey full of learning for me since 2015. I have grown as a person and various events in my life led me to connect to myself on a deeper level. I have been practicing meditation for years now and that truly helped me discover myself. And I truly believe, on a platform like Femina Miss India it is very important to show yourself and for that, you need to know yourself.

What do you think were the judges were looking at while deciding the state winners?

I am sure the judges look for someone who can represent the essence of India globally. I personally have so much to offer in terms of Indian culture through Hindustani Classical Music or being a Modern Indian Woman who is confident to be herself. And these are some important aspects that the judges definitely look for in deciding the winners.

Did you always want to be Miss India?

I always wanted to bring glory to my Nation. Being a granddaughter of a patriot, it has been my childhood dream to bring pride to India. Along with that, I am a compassionate person. Miss India was totally Universe’s calling in 2015, a platform that provided me the opportunity to fulfill both these purposes. However, over time, the purpose, the dream & the vision only became stronger and here I am today.
