The Char Dham Yatra is a very sacred pilgrimage journey. The roads and the narrow tracks are life threatening too. But nothing can stop a true devotee. Dehradun is the heart of this Char Dham Yatra. Honorable Prime Minister Modi Ji inaugurated a 900 km long Char Dham Highway project in Dehradun on Tuesday, 28 December 2016. He paid an homage to the flood victims of Uttarakhand flash flood 2013.

He was in Dehradun for the Parivartan Rally as a part of Bharatiya Janta Party's tour. The Char Dham Highway will be a profitable project for the state of Uttarakhand. The project has a raking budget of twelve thousand crores. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat was present as the chief guest at the event held on the Parade ground. Modi Ji waived off the veil revealing the mega Char Dham Highway project.

A short documentary about the benefits of the Char Dham Highway was screened by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Department. Modi Ji said that this construction is for paying an homage to the flood victims of Uttarakhand flash flood 2013. Modi Ji in his talk with the audience mentioned about the difficulties everybody has to face to reach the purifying Ganga for the sacred bath, due to poor Road conditions. This enormous Highway will make it easy for the pilgrims to travel between the four religious places sacred to them.

Other eminent people present at the event included the Central Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
This will be a very beneficent development for the entire nation and most importantly for Uttarakhand. Another milestone in the progress journey of Uttarakhand.
