Naveen Painyuli & Nitin Tyagi : Casting Dehradun’s Talent In Bollywood

Till a few years back, artists from Dehradun had to move to Mumbai (Bollywood) for even minor roles. There was no way, the Dehradun’s actors could ever dream of working in Bollywood while living in Uttarakhand.

But things have changed now. Dehradun, Mussoorie, and other hill stations in Uttarakhand have become popular as movie locations for the Bollywood industry. And it’s not just the Hindi movies but also the Telugu and Tamil movies which are being shot in Uttarakhand. In fact, the state of Uttarakhand received the Best State for Shooting award consecutively two times.

Casting directors, Naveen, and Nitin are the first choices for any filmmaker when it comes to hiring acting talent from Dehradun. Naveen and Nitin have done casting in several movies like Kabir Singh, Student of the year, Love you too, Tadap, Parmanu, Jersey, etc.

While they are very upbeat about Dehradun as a movie location, they admitted that there are still some challenges that need to be overcome. Ace casting directors said that today’s generation doesn’t want to take time to learn the art. Youngsters want to achieve their dreams without much hard work and patience which hampers their progress eventually.

Talking about their future plans, Naveen & Nitin said they are planning to start a proper casting agency in Dehradun so the artists of Uttarakhand wouldn’t be forced to move to Mumbai.
